The Grey Seer OSL

Planning the osl effects on my Grey Seer

The Grey Seer OSL

This model was a journey that took roughly a month with about 100 hours invested in the process. In the image below you can see the model in a near completed form, but something was missing visually to tie the model into the environment.

At this point i took my high resolution image of the model and inserted it into procreate on my ipad a drawing program i quite like. This model uses a triadic color harmony of dark green, violet, and and ochre yellow. with Green being the primary color of the piece. So i chose green for the OSL effect as well. I painted the lower right of the model’s downward facing surfaces to stand in opposition to the light source i have coming form the top left.

Throughout the piece I am using a desaturated warm grey flesh tone as my universal highlight, so for the glow i wanted something completely different and used a pastel green white to highlight Pthalo green and permanent green. This was a different color progression than i used on the sword glow so that was altered as well in the final piece to match. Below you will see the final model and I’m so proud of how it turned out!
